Most balance boards come off a factory press by the thousands. Ours don't. Each Green Planet Surfer Balance Board starts as a hand-selected sheet of sustainable plywood, then we shape, sand and seal it in our Gold Coast workshop for the right finish and durability.

It's a training tool designed by surfers, for surfers. Practise your cross-steps and rail-to-rail transitions when the swell is flat. When you're not using it, the raw grain and hand-finished edges make it a centrepiece, not something you hide under the couch.

Why our plywood matters

• Responsibly sourced: Okoume veneers from managed plantations certified under FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC.
• Built to last, not to landfill: BS 1088 marine-grade plywood resists moisture, delamination and warping. A board that lasts for years has a far lower footprint than a disposable one.
• Cleaner air at home: Our marine-grade core uses phenolic resin with ultra-low formaldehyde (E0) emissions, so it's a better choice for your indoor training space.
• Naturally plastic-free: High-density wood, not plastic or synthetic composite cores.

• Core engagement: Mimics the subtle weight shifts you use for trim and turning.
• Ankle stability: Builds the stabiliser muscles you need for late take-offs and heavy drops.
• Cross-step practice: The extra-wide deck gives longboarders room to work on footwork in the living room.
